Punch Press Set up Operator
The Brooking, SD location of Quality Tool, Inc. is doubling in space, equipment, sales and people. With this growth comes the need for Punch Press Set up Operator.
Primary Responsibilities
The Punch Press Set Up Operator is responsible for setting up, adjusting, testing and running compound and progressive die punch presses with minimal supervision; positions, align and secure dies and materials; set-up and insure the proper operation of safety operating devices; adapt and improvise. Set up and synchronize automatic material feeds for dimensional and press ram action including roll, hitch, dial and magazine mechanisms, and load material on reels or in bins. Operate press to produce test pieces for inspection and run operations. Instruct and train assigned operator on work methods, operating procedures and checking work.
Critical Job Requirements
The individual must be able to independently set up and run single and progressive dies operations. High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience. Minimum of 6 years experience setting up progressive dies is mandatory. Knowledge concerning mechanical principle, machining practices, the properties of metals and the application.
